Skiron, the Sheep Boy of Trikkala
A Romanian man (from Wallachen) who had settled in Kastania died leaving a wife and several children without means of support. The woman left the youngest child, Skiron, in the care of someone else and returned to her homeland.
The sheep boy of Trikkala escapes
However, the boy escaped from his adopted father and ran wild in the woods for four years, living on milk from the sheep in the summer, and acorns and roots in winter.
Skiron finds a home
Skiron was taken into the care of a shepherd, who clothed and fed him.
