Prateep Chumnoon

Prateep Chumnoon had been partially brought up by the dog that his grandmother left him in the care of when she went out to work. Neighbours alerted police that the boy had started to make dog noises rather than learn to talk, so he was removed from the care of his 60-year-old grandmother and ended up in a welfare centre in in Nakhon Si Thammarat, a province in the south of Thailand.

Prateep was found dead a year later, aged 2, on Sunday 6 April 2004, in a plastic laundry container at the welfare centre. Cause of death was unknown but could have been caused by a fall into the container.
